S2E31 – Balancing Sponsorships and Listenership

Show Summary:

Monetizing via sponsorships may sound like the ultimate goal. But after gaining sponsors and blasting their advertisements in your show, the listenership that you have worked so hard on in the first place starts to lose interest. Is there a way to keep both so your podcast can stay afloat?

And I’m excited to share with you why ad insertion is a third contributing factor of losing your listeners,

It’s always exciting to partner with brands, especially the ones that you’re a fan of.  If you’ve been longtime-user of their products and you highly believe in them, then it’s great for you to partner with them.

And you also have to make sure that the solution they’re solving for you is the same solution that they’re solving for your listeners. Otherwise, it’ll only be a matter of time before you lose your listeners.

That’s why data and analytics is important for you to track per episode. If you have sponsors, you can immediately see if it’s still effective to continue the ad insertion, or you need to make adjustments to other placements.

Episode 31 is the fourth of The Podcash Show’s mini series on how you can make listeners stick with you from beginning to end. I’m here to share with you three tips (3) on how you can retain your listeners while monetizing your podcast through sponsorship.
