This is a question I usually get when someone wants to start a podcast.
So here is a couple of advice I could give:
KNOW YOUR TOPIC OF INFLUENCE (Thanks to Steve Olsher) Identify from which category you could BE YOURSELF most of the time because this will help you BE RELATABLE and COMFORTABLE while recording.
IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET LISTENER’S BEHAVIOR –
*Know their pain points
*Determine which social media platforms they usually hang out All of these will help you BIGTIME in promoting your show and each of your episodes.
IDENTIFY YOUR OFFER SO YOU CAN USE THE RIGHT CTA
Do you want them to be a part of your Facebook group or sign-up to your email list to nurture them?
This will help you choose the right CTA for your outro, promotional posts, and show notes (A CTA aside from asking them to subscribe, review, and leave a rating)
CREATE AN EXPLICIT SCHEDULE AND COMMIT TO IT -SHOW UP.
If you promise to publish one episode a week, every Tuesdays then, BE THERE.For unexpected circumstances that would make you miss an episode for a week, a PODCAST BANK will SAVE you.
Record at least four episodes in advance that is still relatable to your Topic of Influence to maintain your PRESENCE.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS IDENTIFY YOUR GOAL – Do you plan to sell a specific service or product through your podcast?
Do you plan on doing affiliate marketing out of it or build your network?
Determining this helps you build a functional strategy that will solidify the foundation of your podcast.
These are just the basic things that you can start with. Now go ahead and let the world hear your message.
